ABINGTON

The Abington project comprises an exploration licence over an area west of Guyra in the New England Region of NSW. The EL covers approximately 300km² and targets a number of old gold, antimony and molybdenum prospects in a setting that suggests unrecognised potential for intrusion-related gold deposits. In addition to its gold potential, the area is of interest for the presence of antimony, especially at Baxter’s prospect, where two old diamond drill holes intersected stibnite mineralisation at depth, including a 3.8m wide intercept that reputedly carried good grade antimony. No information is available about associated gold grades at Baxter’s. The project currently has low priority but at the appropriate time the Company will evaluate Baxter’s prospect for its gold-antimony potential and assess the scope for production of a small tonnage of such ore for generation of cash flow by processing at Hillgrove, which is only 110km away. In parallel with that, a more grass roots program will target intrusion-related gold.
